As far carmot go into the different items in detail. as the statement of the position of the firm in Febru- ary is concerned, I could not enumerate the German creditors, for, as you remark yourself, these were not paid by the liquidator. However, Y. obtained a copy of this statement because I could no longer keep quiet that I was preparing a statement of this kind. The idea on my side was to state definitely as far as possible the position of R. B. and Company in liquida- tion. The balance of A.R. amounting to some $ 25000 I had to include, having regard to Y. before whom I had to behave as though this amount was in order; I knew of course that here we had only to deal with a fictitous amount but the liquidator knew nothing of this.
